"Well now, this is awkward…" Pein said stupidly as both Kakuzu and Hidan stood in front of their highly confused leader.

Kakuzu growled, crossing his arms together in front of his chest while Hidan was watching a fly buzz around his body, not even paying the slightest amount of attention to what was going on. It was because of his neko instincts that made him act this certain way. To make sure he'd listen, the miser hit the Jashinist upside the head, causing him to groan in protest and cover the spot that he had been hit.

"What the hell?!" Hidan shouted, taking a step backwards, his ears laid back.

"Pay attention." Kakuzu growled.

Even though the miser was cursed with the cat ears and tail, it seemed to have no effect on his conscious. He could still function like he would before. Unfortunately, Hidan was the complete opposite. His mind was being overflow with certain traits that a feline was given, making him basically useless as time progressed. He groaned and exhaled hot air deeply, then stood correctly in the spot he was standing in previously.

"Explain to me how this happened." Pein commanded, looking over to Kakuzu, knowing he'd give him an answer.

Before the miser could speak, the door behind them opened and in came Konan. She held a couple papers in her hand for Pein that needed his signature. Everyone looked over to her and watched her walk inside. Once she shut the door, her attention instantly directed to Kakuzu. The angel noticed the Neko ears and tail on his body wondering to herself how this happened. Instead of saying anything about it, Konan walked over to Pein and set the papers on his desk, then stepped aside.

"Do you know how this happened?" She finally asked, looking over to Kakuzu.

"I just asked, now I'm waiting for an answer." Pein replied, resting his elbows on his desk and intertwining his fingers together.

Truthfully, Kakuzu wasn't afraid to say anything. He wanted to tell them what had happened, it was like an urge. So, he sat down on one of the two chairs behind him and sighed, his tail resting on the furniture silently and his ears perfectly upright. He looked over to Pein completely calm.

"I simply followed Konan's instructions and had sex with Hidan, but after we finished I grew these." He said straight forward, grabbing his tail and showing it to Pein.

The leader nodded, a bit disgusted, but believed him. Konan was also feeling the same way. She could tell when people were honest and knew Kakuzu was telling the truth. The only thing that confused her was why this happened to him.

"Well… as from what I can tell, Kakuzu seems to be fine. He just has a few extra body parts."

Kakuzu nodded at Pein's statement, agreeing with him. The miser did indeed have a couple urges but held them in, knowing he would end up just the same as Hidan was now. He didn't want to be a mindless meat puppet. Kakuzu looked over to Konan, noticing she was paying close attention to him. He looked over to the door.

"I agree with you Pein…" He stated, not amused. "Konan, may I ask you something outside?"

She nodded and slowly made her way to the door. Kakuzu opened it for her and watched the angel walk out the room. He followed her afterwards. Pein on the other hand looked over to Hidan and noticed him watching a small fly buzz around the room. Growing irritated with it, he took a small pike out of his sleeve and threw it at the bug, hitting it perfectly and crushing it against the wall. Hidan jumped in fright once the pike struck the wall, leaving a giant hole. His ears went down and his tail bushed up, obviously frightened.

"Quit staring at it Hidan, sit down and wait for them to return." Pein commanded.

Hidan growled in anger, but sat down on one of the two chairs and crossed his arms in front of his chest. He still was a bit scared, but put up with it anyway, knowing everything would return to normal. Pein sighed softly, leaning back against his chair and grabbing the papers that Konan gave to him, and then began to read them slowly.

"Konan, explain why the cure didn't work!" Kakuzu hissed, his fangs showing. They were long and very sharp. So sharp, they could pierce a person's flesh.

"I was getting to that…" She sighed.

Both of them looked around the hallway, making sure that there weren't anyone listening. This was a special topic that nobody needed to know, not even Pein. Once realizing that there wasn't anyone in the area that they were in, Konan opened her mouth to speak.

"The only reason why the cure was unsuccessful was because you're not in love with Hidan." She stated, making it obvious she was telling the truth.

Kakuzu's eyes suddenly widened in surprise. He even felt a heart or two stop. His body tensed and began to shake slightly. He had no idea love was the main cure. Soon after finding out, he growled and pinned Konan up to the wall, his claws digging into her arms.

"What do you mean love?!" Kakuzu objected, shouting loudly in rage.

"I'm sorry Kakuzu but love is the only thing to get rid of the ears and tail!" Konan growled in reply, wincing as she felt the claws pierce her flesh and draw blood.

Kakuzu huffed, let go of her, and backed away, crimson liquid dripping from his fingers and onto the ground, staining the carpet. He looked away, not even wanting to look at Konan. There was no way he could accept the true cure, it was… revolting.

"Is there another way?" He asked, his head down.

"No, that's the only way." She replied, grabbing her arm and clenching it tightly to ease the pain.

Kakuzu sighed in grief, his ears laid back. He slowly walked over to the wall and punched it hard enough to leave a small dent in it. If the miser had to do it, then he would. Konan watched, feeling slight pity for him. She winced lightly in pain and made a hazel aura consume her hand. It magically began to heal the wound Kakuzu had inflicted onto her.

Kakuzu stepped away from Konan and back into Pein's office, looking away from Hidan and sitting down in one of the chairs right beside him. He crossed his legs, placed an elbow on one of the arms of the seat, and rested his chin on the palm of his hand. The miser leaned away from the Jashinist and sighed quietly to himself. Pein looked over to Kakuzu, noticing the bits of blood on his hand, making him feel uneasy.

"Explain the blood Kakuzu…" He said, unable to keep his eyes off of the crimson liquid.

Kakuzu looked down to his hand and so did Hidan out of curiosity. He parted his lips to speak when he suddenly heard the door creek open. In came Konan once more, the wounds on her arms had vanished, just a little stitching was needed on her cloak. The miser shut his mouth and looked back to Pein as so did the Jashinist.

"I'm fine Pein." She said, shutting the door and walking over to the auburns desk.

Pein nodded in reply and looked over to the two immortals in front of him. They both looked back in return, curious as to what the leader would say to them. The auburn set the bloodshed aside, realizing it didn't matter right now.

"Kakuzu, I've come up with a conclusion." Pein started. "Take care of Hidan. I've realized you aren't a mindless zombie like he is. You have enough potential to change him back to the monster he used to be."

Kakuzu nodded calmly, his tail swaying slowly and his ears upright. He noticed Konan's idea could come into affect with Pein's suggestion, making things simple for him. This wouldn't be so bad after all.

"So in other words Kakuzu, your mission is to take care of Hidan until he develops common sense again."
